Q. Inkjet Cartridge not recognized / Laser cover open & no Toner cartridge.  



Cartridge Not Registering / Not being recognized

Likely Cause

«Printer or computer is not recognizing the cartridge.


«Remove the ink cartridge from the printer.

«Verify that tape is removed from the print head.

«Power OFF the printer. Unplug power cord and other cables. Wait 60 seconds. Plug cords and cables back in.

«Gently wipe cartridge print head and printer circuitry with a nonabrasive towel to ensure there is no debris.

«Re-install the ink cartridge and Power On the printer.

«Run the head cleaning cycle.

Cover Open & No Toner Cartridge


Likely Cause:

«   Bent or broken tabs or drum shutter mechanisms on the cartridge itself.


«   Try straightening the tab on top of the toner cartridge in the case of some IBM products.
